When people are diagnosed with psoriasis, it changes them physically because of the lesions that appear on their skin. But equally important, it can affect how they work, play games, view and interact with others.

What causes psoriasis? Psoriasis may be one of the oldest recorded diseases of the skin. It was probably first described around 35 AD. Some suggest a date even earlier. But until recently, was known little about psoriasis. Although scientists still do not know exactly what causes psoriasis, research has significantly advanced our understanding. An important breakthrough began with the discovery that patients with renal-transplant who had psoriasis experienced clearing when taking cyclosporine. Since cyclosporine is a potent immunosuppressive drug, indicating that the immune system is involved.

Can genetic cause psoriasis? Some people who have a family history of psoriasis never develop the disease. Stress, skin injuries, a strep infection, certain medications, and sunburn are some of the potential triggers known. Drugs that can trigger psoriasis are anti-malarial drugs, beta-blockers (drugs used to treat hypertension and heart disease), and lithium. Dermatologists have seen psoriasis suddenly appear after a person takes one of these drugs have a strep infection or experiences another trigger. Is psoriasis contagious? No, you cannot catch psoriasis from another person or give it to someone by touching them, and it cannot be spread to other parts of the body.

Barely perceptible at first, the rash appears first on the knees, elbows, or hair on the side of the skull by small reddish scales. Then it turned in large patches covered with silvery scales. Later in the eruption process develops on the surface of the skin of others, turning your body into an image cube and your life into a nightmare. Most people have no idea that psoriasis is not contagious and it cannot help but be feared and disgusted when they encounter a sick person. Throughout history, there were no cases of the disease being transferred from one person to another, even when they come into contact with infected blood. However, even in the richest countries in the world, there are about 4% of people registered as suffering from this disease.

What do we know about this? There are researches on the disease that it is caused by certain types of neuroses and stress, but many agree that this disease is still a mystery to doctors. Unfortunately, there is no known cure for this disease. But in studying the many forms and types of psoriasis, doctors are unable to develop a treatment that ensures a sustained remission of the disease. They can also provide a dramatic death until complete resolution of symptoms for many years.

60% of patients have relatives who have suffered or still suffer from this terrible disease. There is only one chromosome responsible. But if someone, back several hundred years of his family tree, and if it could be shown that none of his family are still suffering from psoriasis, it does not matter much. Because the chromosome disease can be suspended for years, parents and children infected to live a long life without a place in their body. However, in some cases may be looked into, as if, and for example – the majority of patients between 15 and 25 years. This is because of the hormonal changes your body goes through during puberty, and increasing mental instability.
